The 2010 World Series of Poker has come to a summer’s end. This leaves 56 events played to completion. 56 winners selected and paid as WSOP Bracelet holders. It also leaves us one event undecided. There are 9 lives being held in the balance, wondering who the next multimillion dollar bracelet winner is. All of the men at the final table, the November Nine, are already in the cash for several hundred thousand dollars. Come November we will find out who is going to walk home with the big prize.

The 2010 World Series of Poker 10, 000 dollar No Limit Hold’em Main Event final table currently stands like this:

      Chip leader: Jonathan Duhamel 65,975,000

      John Dolan 46,250,000

      Joseph Cheong 23,525,000

      John Racener 19,050,000

      Matthew Jarvis 16,700,000

      Filippo Candio 16,400,000

      Michael Mizrachi 14,450,000

      Soi Nguyen 9,650,000

      Jason Senti 7,625,000

This elite group, also known as the November Nine, will compete for 8.5 million dollars. This is the poker world’s most coveted prize. Only the above listed men stand a chance in November of claiming that prize, but all will walk away changed men. Sponsorships, competition and reputation now precede the final table. Walking away with 9th place will pay out 811,823 hundred thousand dollars with the winning hand earning 8,944,138 million dollars.

Each of the nine comes to this point with their own story.

Jonathan Duhamel

22 year old Jonathan dropped out of college last year to pursue his poker career. This choice to leave his finance degree behind has worked well in the favor of this Canadian. During his pursuit of the final table, Duhamel had entered in and cashed in 10th place of the European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague Main Event 2008, bubbling for more than 54 thousand dollars. He entered the Poker Stars Caribbean Adventures Main events and cashed for 17 thousand dollars. To date, before he made the November Nine, his total poker winnings reached 101, 560 dollars. Should he be knocked out in 9th place he has already more than tripled his professional poker earnings.

Jonathan has been playing poker online for 5 to 6 years, but has only gone professional in the last year. When he is not playing poker live he enjoys playing online in 8 to 10 table sim’s in the mid-level games.

John Dolan

Poker player since college, this former accounting student at Florida State University (FSU) turned to online poker to pay for his college. When this proved successful within a few months, he selected to play poker professionally. This 24 year old Floridian is second in the chip stack for the November Nine, World Series of Poker Main Event Final table. Just by making the table he’s secured no less than 811 thousand dollars. Before making the WSOP Main Event Final his biggest pay day was in an online tournament for 82 thousand dollars. When he’s entered the WSOP previously he’s cashed 5 times, totaling 105,340 dollars and he’s also competed in the WSOP Circuit events, cashing a total of 3, 333 dollars.

John Dolan has a younger brother and sister who both attend Florida State University. Subsequently he spends time visiting his old campus often. One of the things he is noted for, by his family, is the time he takes to help his siblings when he is there. The former High School athlete enjoys watching most sports and continues to play cards in his free time.

Joseph Cheong aka subiime

Joseph Cheong is a 24 year old poker professional who started his game playing online as subiime. He has joined the incredible talent at the World Series of Poker’s main event final table. His skilled efforts over the course of 8 days has earned him a place among the coveted November Nine.

He was born in Seoul, South Korea and calls La Mirada, California home. On his climb to the WSOP Final Table, he has won several online events including a Mini Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) tournament. The final cash was 55, 000 dollars. He often plays in online no limit games but has recently adjusted his focus off line to similar. In that effort, he has achieved two, World Series of Poker event, cashes this year totaling 31, 064 dollars. Additionally, he has won 4 WSOP Circuit events, cashing in for 20,890. With that experience and practice, Cheong will sit down as the 3rd place chip stack at the final table in November, with 23,525,000 dollars.

John Racener aka Spikey

John started playing poker with online tournaments. He played several years before his 21st birthday, when he naturally made the move to live games, competing effectively at any table he sat at. In the last 3 years he has won over a million dollars in live poker tournaments to date. This self taught poker professional has proven it can be done.

His first major win came when he competed at Harrahs in the Atlantic City Poker Tournament. For his 21st birthday, he walked home with the 3rd place cash of more than 100 thousand dollars. Since then he has had 30 more live tournament cashes that total over a million dollars. For John, 9th place alone would amount to the largest single cash win of his career. He is poised to take home potentially 8 million. He will sit down at the final table with the other members of the November Nine holding 19, 050,000 in chips.

This active 24 year old enjoys playing basketball, golf and tennis. In the mean time he enjoys visiting clubs and bars and the night life in general.

Mathew Jarvis

This 25 year old Canadian business student has become one of the most sought after men in the poker world. He is a member of the 2010 November Nine final table of the World Series of Poker. Mathew Jarvis is a middle stack at 16, 700,000 chips. This major accomplishment has earned him the attention of poker rooms, the media and his family’s approval. Jarvis turned poker professional with a great deal of friction from family and friends. After entering and winning several cashes prior to entering the WSOP some of his family started to come around. After making the final table of the World Series of Poker, he’s helped them see the success that can be.

Mathew picked up poker while he was working at a sales company. Playing small cash games here and there he became both interested and good at the game. Eventually he found his way to a brick and mortar casino and then onto online poker tournaments. In time his competitive spirit earned him several sizeable pots and he added sit and gos to his repertoire.

If Mathew Jarvis or Jonathan Duhamel go on to win the final table, they will become the first Canadian to do so. This would be an incredible way to move into the record books.

Filippo Caddio

This 25 year old Italian man is the last European standing in the most prestigious tournament in the entire poker world. This poker professional has been an incredible force to be reckoned with on the Italian and European poker circuit. Traveling with other Italian poker players, Caddio has accrued well over 250, 000 dollars of the last 2 years of live poker events. Last year he won his biggest cash and title when he won the San Remo Main Event of the Italian Poker Tour. His cash was 185,271 dollars out of a field of 281 active Italian poker players. He will sit at the final table as a middle stack with 16, 400,000 in chips.

Earlier this year’s WSOP he topped his previous best by cashing in Event 11 a 1,000 dollar buy in No Limit Hold’em event with an astronomical field. He finished 157th with a 2,000 dollar cash. Now he is poised to bring in more than 8.9 million dollars as well as make a name for Italian poker stars.

An interesting point about this young poker professional can be seen in his unique business perspective. He has created a line of poker themed clothing that is doing quite well in European sales. Additionally he enjoys music and generally having fun, even at the poker table. Recently he has become a proud member of team Poker Stars.

Michael ‘The Grinder’ Mizrachi

This 29 year old is the most accomplished poker player at the final table of the World Series of Poker’s sought after November Nine. This poker professional has earned more than 6.7 million dollars playing in various poker tournaments, online and off. Proving to be one of the most skilled poker players at the table, this man will be a challenge even as a middle level chip stack. Michael started to find his success in the online tournament and play while going to school to become a doctor. This intellectual man also found chess to be a competitive challenge that has enhanced his poker ability.

His first major accomplish was when he took fifth place at the World Poker Tour World Poker Open, putting him in the spotlight of the poker world. He followed up this first major win with one at the LA Poker Classic. He brought home 1.8 million dollars and this was in 2006. Four years later he is sitting at the final table again. Yes, again. Earlier this year he took first in Event two of the WSOP taking in 1, 559, 046 and the WSOP bracelet for the event.

Michael has 2 children with his wife Aidilyi. Both are professional poker players who call both Florida and Nevada home throughout the year.

Michael will sit down at the final table in November with 14, 500, 000 in his chip stack. Although he is not at the top of the list, don’t expect he will an easy player to knock out.

Cuong Soi Nguyen

This 37 year old medical supplies distributer learned to play poker from some of the known poker professionals in Southern California. He entered the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event as his first foray into this series of major tournament events. With that choice he has battled, successfully, through an incredible field of talent and reached the final table. He is the most novice member of the November Nine, but don’t count him out. He has one cash in the L.A. Poker Classic in his accomplishment.

With his aggressive style of play, Soi shows the potential of becoming one of the most challenging competitors at the table. He will enter with 9.65 million in the chip stack. This puts him in the 8th seat at the table with some incredible and established poker professionals. However, in his effort to reach the final table he had to knock out many other incredible poker professionals.

He currently works for Team Makena and has been approached to be a member of Team Full Tilt. This will establish him as part of the world poker powerhouse.

Jason Senti aka PBJaxx

Jason is living the poker dream. A popular instructor with Bluefire Poker, this former electrical engineer has been a poker professional playing online as PBJaxx. Originally he was playing in his spare time, but came to realize he was making more part time playing than he did at his well paid profession. The choice became obvious at that point. He quit his job and started to play competitively and professionally on the poker circuit. Generally he plays $5/10s and $50/100 No Limit Hold’Em online and Pot Limit Hold’em. This will prove to be an asset as he enters the play at the final table of the World Series of Poker’s Main Event in November.

His strength is found in heads up and small table games. With this, he has been known to limit himself to 6 heads up tables, at any given time. Senti is the short stack at the table with merely 7.63 million in chips. The smaller the crowd goes, the tougher he is to compete against, thus don’t count him out in 9th. He will prove to be one of the toughest and most experienced competitors in the November Nine.

The 2010 November Nine will prove to be a tough final table. Nine fantastic and aggressive poker players are squared off for more than 8.9 million dollars. The final table action begins on November 6th and will air on the 9th.

Popularity of poker affiliate marketing.

One of the most interesting and popular card games in the world is poker. Since its inception, poker is known to be a thought provoking and a challenging game. The fascinating game of poker has millions of loyal fans across the world, this is clearly visible by the popularity, and the long list of players registered in the poker rooms.

Do you know how to join a poker room? It is very simple. You either can first do a comprehensive research on the internet and find out the best poker rooms in the world and are introduced by poker affiliate or join directly. The term rake needs to be understood well before we proceed. When you go online to play poker, most of the rooms listed on the internet accept five percent (mostly) of the game cash pot in the cash games. Therefore, if the pot were $15 then the poker room would keep 0.75 cents for itself and pass on $14.25 to the winner of the poker game. This is how poker rooms mint loads of money as hundreds of new members join everyday that results in increased traffic and the popularity of the room. The chances of making more money increase during tournaments as more members would join and attempt to win pots with their luck and expertise in the game that they have mastered. Poker rooms earn a lump sum with the participation fee that needs to be deposited so that players are eligible for tournaments.

How do so many players join poker rooms? How do players get to know about the various poker rooms? A poker affiliate helps in introducing new and active players to poker rooms which results in increase of traffic and we all know that the more the players the more chances of winning big money. In fact, you should know that the number of members measures the popularity of any poker room. Most of the poker rooms invest money by hiring poker affiliates as they generate business in the best possible manner.

How is a poker affiliate paid? Well two methods can be chosen by a poker affiliate. A poker affiliate gets a certain percentage (generally around 20-40%) of the rake that is generated by new players. This method is popularly known as MGR. The other method is popularly termed as CPA. In this method, a standard rate is given to a poker affiliate that is generally $100. This varies from one poker room to another. The rate oscillates between $70-$200 depending on the ranking and popularity of the online poker room.

A poker affiliate is specially given affiliate links that helps them to introduce new members to any online poker room. This is the best way of learning the number of new players introduced by each poker affiliate that helps them earn money every month in a fair manner. Poker affiliates are becoming popular with each passing day as new players help in increasing traffic and the eminence of online poker rooms. Undoubtedly, the increasing number of players rake more money and the better chances of winning small and big pots alike by players.

Born in Vantaa, Finland in 1980, Patrik Antonius is one of the young stars of the major world poker circuits. Not only does he have the title of European Poker Tour Rookie of the Year from 2005, but he has also been making a big impact at the World Series of Poker and the ever-popular World Poker Tour. With a plethora of cashes in the high stakes multi-table poker tournaments, Antonius has earned a bankroll that is the envy of even the most accomplished players. It is estimated that he has made over $2.8 million dollars in tournament poker winnings since that rookie season of 2005.

The former Finnish tennis star now resides in Monte Carlo and pursues his poker career full-time. He has always been a major force at the internet poker rooms where his skills and reputation has earned him the distinct honor of being part of the Full Tilt Poker Team. Joining the likes of Jesus Ferguson and Howard Lederer, as well as many other great players, Patrik Antonius has arrived as one of the best players in the world.

He formerly played at Full Tilt Poker under a few different poker aliases and he also played many other websites before being welcomed onto the Full Tilt Team. He now plays with his real name and offers games to anyone willing to play some high stakes poker. He can be found playing online at the large cash games and he even plays in a few of the big tournaments held by the website. His reputation precedes him and players need to be ready for a great challenge if they want to go head to head with Antonius.

Apart from being a great cash game player and tournament standout, Patrik Antonius’ greatest passion is for heads up battles. He is ready and willing to play any person, any time and any place. He considers his heads up abilities to be the strength of his game and he is not afraid to put that on the line if there is an opponent that is ready. Patrik Antonius remains to be the only player that has accepted the challenge set forth by Tom Dwan to play a heads up match consisting of 50,000 hands for a total of $1 million. The match is ongoing through the internet and the winner is yet to be determined. This goes to show that Patrik Antonius is very serious about his heads up skills and very serious about putting them to the ultimate test.

Tom Dwan busted onto the poker scene with an uncanny ability to read his opponents. He has only been playing poker for 6 years, but his instincts and skills are that of a seasoned pro. Wise beyond his years is the best way to describe this upcoming force in the poker world. At only 23 years of age, this gutsy poker star has already won and lost more money than most people will make in their lifetimes.

Play Online Poker

Tom Dwan has learned some important lessons early in his career about how to manage a bank roll. He has actually lost more than $1 million on two different occasions. Although this would be a huge setback for most players, the ability of Dwan to bounce back when adversity was staring him in the face shows the true characteristics of a world class poker player.

Dwan got his start playing internet poker under the name “Durrrr” The fearless youngster said he choose this nickname to put his opponents on tilt after losing a big pot to him. Now it has become his nickname at the live tournaments where he is quickly turning into a force to be reckoned with. He is unique from many other online poker prodigies because Dwan has brought his game to the live tables and has not lost a step.

He was once just another faceless dominator of the internet poker ranks, but ever since his 21st birthday, this poker whiz has been cleaning up in the world’s biggest tourneys. Dwan already has 2 cashes in the World Series of Poker and he is gearing up to have another big year in 2010. He considers his strength to be heads up Texas Hold’em and he is not scared to prove himself against the best players in the game.

The courageous Dwan has so much confidence in his heads up skills that he issued an open challenge to anyone in the world that wants to play heads up for $1 million dollars. His terms are simple, 50,000 hands of online poker with the stakes of $200/$400 blinds. He told his opponent that if they are winning after the 50,000 hands he will pay out $1.5 million and if he is winning, the other player is only responsible to pay $500,000. He has sparked a lot of interest from the likes of Phil Ivey and David Benyamine. The only person Dwan is not willing to play against is follow young poker star Phil Galfond.

With an ego like Tom Dwan possesses and the wiliness to back it up at anytime makes this young player a real threat at the poker table. There is no doubt that Dwan will be creating a lot of noise come the 2010 poker season and he might get some of the best players in the world shouting DURRRR!

Phil Ivey is one of the most talented poker players in the world, the best of the new generation. Often referred to as the “Tiger Woods” of poker, though he’s often responded that he is not worthy of the comparison (he may have a different response these days). Ivey is an American professional poker player who has seven World Series of Poker bracelets and one World Poker Tour title under his belt. He is currently listed as first in the world among all-time money winners in tournament poker.

Play Online Poker

Ivey was born February 1, 1976 in Riverside, California. A few months later his family moved to Roselle, New Jersey which is on the east coast just a short distance away from Atlantic City. Ivey wasn’t like most kids growing up dreaming to be a professional athlete or movie star. All he ever wanted to be was a professional poker player. Mission accomplished. His grandfather supported his dreams and taught him how to play Five-Card Stud. Dealing from the bottom of the deck to teach little Phil the potential dangers of gambling, the lesson is meant to be warning. As you probably already guessed, the lesson didn’t work. As Phil was growing up, he watched numerous home games watching and learning. Watching and learning was not his thing, Phil’s an action man and by the age of 16 he was playing backroom games for money. At 18, he pays $50 for a phony ID from a co-worker at his telemarketing job named Jerome Graham. Phil then takes his new ID and heads to the live tables in Atlantic City, A LOT. He spent so much time there, his fellow players nicknamed him “No Home Jerome” (name coming from his fake ID) and stuck with him. Ivey wasn’t always the talent he is today. In the beginning, he lost most of the time but there’s something to be said for the poker education which accompanied these losses (and a win every now and then).

It only took a few years for the tables to turn in his favor, and boy did they turn.
