Tiffany Michelle negative reactions
Uncategorized November 8th, 2008There have been a lot of negative reactions online lately due to the behavior exhibited by Tiffany Michelle on ESPN’s World Series of Poker. There were several instances where she exhibited poor behavior in most people’s eyes.
Some of her antics early on were compared to those of Phil Hellmuth. She berated one player for playing a junk holding and also complained to Craig Marquis in the middle of a hand when he took his time making a decision. Later on she even said that she was going to raise because Marquis “took a second less.”
Another instance of poor manners came when she was eating fries at the table with her bare hands. She basically gave off an “I don’t care” attitude when players scolded her because of the fact that there may be grease transfer onto the cards.
The main instance that has drawn the most criticism was when she called the clock on Paul Snead in a big hand with Scott Montgomery. He was in the middle of trying to decide on a pot for 12 Million in chips and she called the clock on him. The other players at the table and even the announcers commented on how poor of a choice this was.
As a result of her behavior, many threads have been popping up all over the internet bashing Tiffany Michelle. One of the largest has been over at twoplustwo.com.
Some of the comments that have been directed at Tiffany Michelle include:
“Hopefully, while you were learning allot about tournament poker, you were also learning a bit about personal conduct at the tables.”
“Tiffany the way the showed you on the coverage you acted like the biggest douche ever and you play was not great at all”
Tiffany Michelle commented on the thread that the Craig Marquis bits were horribly edited by ESPN and tried to come across as the victim. Craig Marquis chimed in on the matter:
“Yeah. This is all well and good after the fact, but you were extremely disrespectful and unbelievably rude while we were playing in just about every situation you could be. I feel like those 7 edited episodes accurately depicted your behavior during the tournament, and you can say it was “your table face” or whatever, but your calling the clock during the Paul Snead and Scott Montgomery hand in what is probably the most stressful situation the man has ever been just boggles my mind. Also this is coming from somebody who is judging you entirely on his personal experience with you, not from the any media-skewed perspective.”
After Marquis’ comment, the comments towards Tiffany Michelle continued:
“lol @ tiffany saying it is all good between craig and her. thanks for clarify it up craig. now tiffany makes herself off as a bitch and a liar. well done”
“You backstabbed pokernews for UB. You were a reporter, so you knew that UB was shit, yet you choose to go with them….Douchebag!!! Calling the clock was laughable. Go away little girl, noone likes you”
“Ban OP, imo. Or at least change her forum title from “Stranger” or whatever it currently says to “UB Prostitute.”” (Tiffany Michelle actually started the thread so she was the OP, or original poster.)
“I’m so glad you didnt make the november 9. Karma, bitch.”
One of the best but true digs may have come from ESPN’s commentator Lon McEachern. Shortly after the incident of her eating fries with her fingers at the table he said, “As a pre-teen, Tiffany was on the beauty pageant circuit, winning several titles including congeniality awards. I don’t think any of these guys will give her that vote tonight.”
A lot of people also made comments on how that they thought that because she was not a big name that she was being treated differently. The general response was that Hellmuth and other had actually accomplished feats of greatness in poker, and Tiffany Michelle had not. In fact, she had to be backed in order to get into the Main Event.
Other comments have been made about her looks. Some people are thinking that she is using her looks to try and make a name for herself in poker. Others are still trying to figure out what it is about her that is supposed to be attractive. Several comical pictures have been posted, including those showing her with a square chin or comparing her to trolls. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and many people are trying to find something to behold.
Comments and blogs all over the internet are continuing to weight in on this matter. Some are just focusing on her accomplishment, where others are mostly bashing her for her behavior. The lesson to be learned here is that when you are on TV and are trying to make a name for yourself, watch how you behave as the whole world will be watching and waiting to tell you how fucked up you are.

Tiffany Michelle is just plain RUDE! Not only does she think that she gets to “run the game” on her OWN clock, and not give someone the time they think they want or need, since she wasn’t even in the damned hand anyway, but she gets to pass judgment on others who are in the hand….I honestly believe she was just a little pissed that the camera wasn’t on her arrogant face. Please, in her blog she calls him a Hollywooder simply because he is thinking about his hand. Again, we’ve all seen her arrogance and she simply wanted the camera on her. Disgusting.
Everyone saw, and even the announcers commented on Tiffany being happy about the other 2 last girls being knocked out. The other girls were cheering for her (but they didn’t know yet that Tiffany was publicly hoping they got knocked out.) As the announcer said after Tiffany was happy to see Lisa Parsons (a real pro and classy person and player) get eliminated, “well, I guess there’s no traveling sisterhood in poker.” And this is in addition to Tiffany calling the other remaining girls “bitches” on camera in an interview. Tasteless. Just low class trash. Tiffany is just a young obnoxious rude person, and I think it would be hard to sit at a table with an arrogant obnoxious person like that.
I high-fived when Tiffany Michelle got knocked out and I’d NEVER cheer her on again. EVER! Good riddance Tiffany Michelle. Pride comes before a fall.
Oh, and by the way Tiffany Michelle, if the “chips had a crush on you” before, as you so arrogantly in Tiffany Michelle fashion stated in WSOP, I suppose they dumped your ass. Maybe they thought you were “taking too long” in the mirror that morning and “called” you on it

Even if one assumes that Tiffany Michelle was trying to psych her opponents and that the ESPN clips were edited in an attempt to make her look bad… even if both of these things were true, her behaviour was extremely obnoxious and condescending. It must have been very hard for the players to sit with her and not comment on her antics.
One moment not commented on much by others that really grated on me was when one player asked if he was the only one who flew people in to see them play and she replies in a very demeaning manner that “most of us do this all the time”. First off, she’s wrong about that for just about everyone at that table, including herself. And even if it were true it was completely understandable why someone would do it.
I will thank her for one thing, however. I now have another addition to the small list of players that I love to see knocked out of tournaments.
